Ann is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in mental health. She is certified in addiction and
understands the complex nature of escaping from interpersonal problems by turning outward to quick fixes.
She holds a MSW degree from George Williams School of Social Work with 17 years of experience
working with people. She provides counseling in Glen Ellyn, including employee assistance work,
crisis intervention, mediation and heart centered meditation. Ann is prepared to help you work through
many of the problems that cause you stress, depression and anxiety, including inner child work when needed.
Ann has training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Interpersonal, eclectic and Nonviolent Communications (NVC). She has recently completed an externship in a practice of one of the most effective research based models of couples therapy called Emotionally Focused Therapy. This therapy helps couples transform negative relationship patterns into new patterns of connection based upon attachment theory of care, comfort and connection. She has led NVC workshops improving communication skills with a variety of people. Ann has experience in treating people who are struggling with codependency, adult survivors who grew up in alcoholics homes, anger and stress management. Ann is certified as a Anger Management Specialist II designation from the Anger Management Association. She has led empathic bereavement groups for hospice. Having the comfort to speak about spiritual concerns is often extremely important to people. With five year post graduate work at a Theological Institute in non-denominational studies and healing, Ann can allow for spiritual concerns to be addressed to round out a holistic approach that addresses the whole person in their environment.
